Education

A healthy body politic requires an educated electorate. At Main Research, we envision a future where accessible and innovative educational resources empower individuals, fostering a society where knowledge is a catalyst for progress.

Whenever a visionary builds something new, such as a family farm, that visionary understands what went into the creation of that farm, and the purpose of each of those items. As the adjacent farms begin sharing the costs of bordering roads, and then as multiple farms form townships and introduce court systems and a sheriff, new costs are introduced. With every successive generation, people forget why different institution were created, but agree to finance them out of habit. What results is ever increasing taxes to pay for services no one really understands or appreciates. An educated population, therefore, is necessary to know what to demand of their elected officials.

What we do at Main Research is to create the tools necessary to achieve that education. What we strive to do is to take complex issues, such as political or ideological positions, and to quantify those positions through a crowd sourced, social media platform. By quantifying them, for example, ranking politicians as either right of center or left of center, we make it easier for the single mother to determine who to vote for, come election time. We also put different comments and bills into different issue buckets, for example pro choice versus pro life, so citizens can more quickly educate themselves on their candidates. By providing for a fun social media experience, we incentivize users to engage other users in lively debate.
